Notes

A productive weekend of getting my digital life in order:

  • Feedbin replaces Feedly for everything RSS
  • Obsidian replaces Notion for notes and posts (IA Writer for longer form)
  • my old domain now properly redirects to kevinhealyclarke.co.uk (with a quick reskin, very much work in progress)

Now to actually do some writing…

Finished The Satsuma Complex by Bob Mortimer. A crime fiction novel written by Bob Mortimer — what more can I say? If you’re a fan of any of his work this will be an immediate 10/10. For those not familiar it may be a bit of a challenge; the details he goes in to can be unusual, but do bear with it — plenty of twists and turns to keep you interested.

Obsessed with Ian McKellen’s blog while he was playing Gandalf in the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, split in to The Grey Book and The White Book — how has this slipped me by?!

Finished Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities this eve and there were some misses but overall a great ebb and flow of horror anthologies. Highly recommend going in to episode 7 “The Viewing” without knowing what its about, the cast are brilliant in this episode — Peter Weller in particular — my favourite episode of the lot.

Our long weekend away started with dinner in The Chequers. Jam rolly-polly and custard for pud and now looking forward to a bag of Space Raiders at tomorrows tuck time to complete the school nostalgia.
